Beating Bowel Cancer

NHS offers free bowel screening for everyone aged 60-74

Why Get Screened?

Bowel Cancer screening is important as if it is detected early the treatment is likely to be successful and the chance of survival is more than 90%.

Did you know...

Only 58% of our patients do the screening!

1 in 20 people will get bowel cancer in their lifetime!

8 out of 10 who are diagnosed with bowel cancer aver over 60!

What is the screening process?

You recieve a testing kit where you will need to provide 3 tiny samples from 3 different bowel movements (Poo's) and then send the kit back using the special hygienic envelope provided.

The test is then repeated every two years until the age of 74 because regular screening has been shown to reduce the risk of dying from the disease by at least 16%

How can I get a testing kit?

You can order a free home testing kit by calling 0800 707 60 60
