The Appointment System

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointments can be booked on the day but should onlu be used if it is a genuinely urgent issue. You will be booked into the next urgent slot available with the Duty Doctor or Duty Nurse Practitioner for that day (dependent on who you need to see). These cannot be booked in advance, only on the day. We reccomend that you contact the surgery at the openind time (8am) or as close to that as possible in order to be seen as soon as possible.

If a delay should occur we hope that you will appreciate that the Doctor will see you as soon as is possible.

Appointments to see a Doctor

We offer pre-bookable appointments with the Doctors for routine (non-urgent) appointments and you will be offered the next available routine slot.

Doctors appointments are for one person onlu and are normally for a duration of 10 minutes, although we realise that some patients may need more time with the Doctor. If you believe you need more than 10 minutes with a Doctor then please notify the receptionist making your appointment.

Appointments to see a Nurse Practitioner

We also offer Nurse Practitioner appointments at different times throughout the week. Some appointments are pre-bookable with the rest bookable on the day. Nurse Practitioners are authorised to prescribe as well as Doctors.

Appointments to see a Nurse of Health Care Assistant

Appointment times to see a Practice Nurse vary, but theres are available on request from reception. As each Nurse and Health Care Assistant are responsible for different clinics it is helpful if we know the reason for the appointment when making it to enable us to book you in to the apporpriate slot.
